Message from Cllr Alexandra Kemp

At the Parish Council Meeting, there was a query about Lynn Library. It is now open to residents again, except for the study area. You can borrow books and use the computers.

But the baby-weighing and the groups are not yet taking place again, due to Covid restrictions.

The future of Lynn Library

The Borough Council has applied for Govt for funding for a new Library and Community Hub in the old Argos Building. If this application is successful, the current Carnegie Library building would sadly become redundant.

I asked the Chair of the Corporate Service Committee at full County Council on Monday if they have identified another purpose for the current library. She said they have not got to that point yet.

I have made it clear I do not agree with the library being moved out of the historic building it is  in.
